History of the work :
Made on a custom-made stretcher, this 170 x 130 cm canvas makes it one of the largest formats to date by Alexandre Kubasik.
The fluo and its vanishing lines amplify the contrasts on a black velvet skin specific to panthers.
This work is inspired by the lines of the Italian car manufacturer DE TOMASO where some cars can be seen, notably in the film “Herbie goes to Monte Carlo” (1977).
The shape of the head and the eyes of the animal are treated like the headlights of a Supercar Pantera GTS.
Finally, the floral integration of the composition is a tribute to guitarist Dimebag Darrell (1966 – 2004) and drummer Vinnie Paul (1964 – 2018), both brothers and founders of the American metal band PANTERA, of which the artist is a big fan.
